See ya, 2016. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

Whether you like to get out and party like a rockstar on New Year's Eve in Denver, or if entertaining at home and watching the ball drop on the East Coast is more your style, here are some ideas from Live Urban agents to ring in 2017, Denver-style!

Jana Miller said:

The best way to ring in the New Year is with friends and a quirky party. This year we're having a pajama party, spinning records and playing Family Feud. In many years throwing holiday parties, these two hors 'd oeuvres are always big hits. Both are from the original Colorado Cache cookbook. The cookbook isn't online but these two links have the correct recipes:

denver housing market 2017

What will 2017 bring to Denver's housing market?

We asked Megan Aller, our local housing stats expert and Land Title rep, to pull the numbers together for us yet again. You may not be able to go back in time and buy a couple of years ago when Average Home Prices in the Denver Metro area were much lower...but you CAN crunch the digits and decide if it might make sense to make a move in '17, before either interest rates or prices go up even more (or both)!

Last year, Megan had this to say.

The numbers are no less shocking this time around...and we've also got a new President moving into the White House that is sure to cause some impact as well.

Denver's demand doesn't look to decrease anytime soon, and it's just a guess as to what will

If you were visiting somebody in Denver, where would you rather wait for a ride -- outside door 410 at DIA or inside Union Station? I know. Me, too. So why the heck are you still picking people up at the airport?

Tell your friends and family to take the A Line to Union Station and you'll get there when you get there. They won't mind. They can grab a cocktail and play table shuffleboard. They can get food at some of the best restaurants in town. They'll be having so much fun, they won't even complain if you're late.

And you won't complain, because you'll be saving yourself over an hour in the car. When you live west of Denver, you're pretty much passing by Union Station on the way to the airport. There's already way too much traffic on that

The 7 Things You Need to Know About Denver Airbnb Regulations

1. You must live in the place you’re renting out. The primary residence restriction was the most contentious provision of the new measures. Essentially, this prohibits you from renting out a second home on Airbnb or VRBO. You can rent out a room while you’re staying there or the whole house while you’re traveling. You can also rent out a garage apartment or a mother-in-law suite.

2. You must pay a $25 fee. If you’re going to rent out your home,

5 Reasons to Sell Your Denver Area Home NOW

1. Don't wait for the weather to warm up to sell...beat the competition by listing now instead!

The price of any item (including residential real estate) is determined by ‘supply and demand’. If many people are looking to buy an item and the supply of that item is limited, the price of that item increases.

According to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), the supply of homes for sale dramatically increases every spring. As an example, here is what happened to housing inventory at the beginning of 2016:

The #1 Reason to Sell Now… Not Next Spring | Keeping Current Matters

Putting your home on the market now instead of waiting for increased competition in the spring might make a lot of sense, especially since we are expecting these same inventory patterns to

What will Denver's housing market look like in 2017?

It's a question we get all the time - as Denver's local Real Estate experts, we not only do as much research and forecasting as we can, we are also in the field and on the streets, all day every day. Talking to both homeowners and homebuyers as well as investors and developers, looking at inventory, and doing our best to help Live Urban clients navigate the Denver area's complex housing environment.

Here are a few predictions from Live Urban agents looking into 2017 and beyond:

Ash Sabados predicts: Interest rates will put a ceiling on home values. 30 year fixed will be heading to 5 percent. Market will become more balanced in 2017.

You flip through profiles late at night, and certain phrases or well-lit photos make your heart skip a beat. And when you think you may have found “The One,” you figure it’s time to make an assessment in person.

Dating? Or house hunting? It could be either.

Neither buying your dream home nor finding true love comes without effort. But just how deep does the comparison go? To find out, we pulled together some data about both—the emotional highs and devastating lows that people experience on their journeys. You be the judge.
