This Weekend in City Park & East ColfaxPosted by Heather Truhan on Saturday, July 14th, 2012 at 3:15pm.
Have you checked out what is happening along East Colfax lately? Along the revitalized Colfax corridor from Josephine to Colorado, new restaurants and coffee shops abound. Check out three hot events this weekend including:
Colorado Black Arts Festival - colbaf.org
July 13-15, 2012, 10 am - 8 pm
Denver City Park West
The theme for this year is Art Reflects Nature, chosen to demonstrate Nature's role in African American Arts and Culture. Talents from the African American Visual and Performing Artists will take these ingredients and present a program that reflects our natural environment, through music, dance, the visual arts, crafts, cultural traditions and history. Two stages, 30+ performing artists and over 75 additional art & food vendors = something for everyone.
Second Saturday - mycolfax.org
Saturday, July 14, 2012, 7 - 10 pm
Colfax Ave between Josephine and Adams
East Colfax shops are open late for art openings, live music and more. Check out new art at Hooked on Colfax (See Facebook Events Page) and Babooshka Salon, among others.
City Park Jazz - cityparkjazz.org
Sunday, July 15, Jeff Jenkins concert starts at 6 pm (Arrive by 5 pm to claim a picnic spot)
City Park (Get Parking Info: http://www.cityparkjazz.org/map-cpj-parking.pdf)
Just four Sunday concerts left this season. Join your friends and neighbors for one of Denver's biggest community picnics featuring live jazz and fun for everyone! Watch the City Park grounds fill with families and friends setting up their own picnics, BBQs, lawn games and dog meetups. Rent a duck or swan paddleboat for the kids and float around Ferril Lake.
