Walk Denver is a non-profit organization whose mission it is to make Denver a pedestrian friendly city with neighborhoods that are "well-connected, people-focused, culturally vibrant, active and economically thriving."  At LIVE Urban a large number of our clients are interested in living in neighborhoods where residents can walk to parks, stores, and restaurants, because those of us who live in neighborhoods with high walk scores,  know walking is great for building community ties, enjoying local finds and slowing the pace of our lives. 

Walk Denver is advocating one project in conjunction with the national organization Better Block (betterblock.org) in the North West Denver's Jefferson Park.  This project sets up temporary pop up businesses and community improvement projects to show the economic possibilities of neighborhoods that have been neglected.  Through their efforts in other states Better Block projects have brought significant revitalization funds to communities.  Check out Walk Denver on Facebook or at Walkdenver.org to see what projects they are working on across our beautiful city.  By Dawn Nudell Richardson
