Live in coveted Washington Park
Washington Park is one of Denver's favorite neighborhoods, owing to its tree-lined streets and the fabulous, 161-acre park from which the area gets its name. Bounded by Alameda, Buchtel, University and Downing, Wash Park attracts residents who can afford the area's ever-expanding homes. The park's outstanding public amenities -- including lakes, a recreation center with an indoor pool, historic gardens (one is an exact replica of Martha Washington's garden at Mt. Vernon,) playgrounds and acres of manicured meadow -- are (mostly) free for all Denver residents to enjoy. The neighborhood borders I-25, which was recently expanded and includes light rail. Washington Park's popularity worries some residents because of increased density, more traffic, and the replacement of older homes with luxury duplexes.
