Born in Manhattan (always a New Yorker); Bred in New England (still a proper Yankee). The work resume reads like “War and Peace”, so we’ll just do the “Sound Bite” version. As a sweet young thing in NYC, advertising and public relations. Making three major hotels famous and working with Giau Carlo Menotti and other great American artists, creating the first “Spoleto (Italy) Festival of Two Worlds.” Married.
Arrived in Denver in the 60’s (incredible culture shock at the time), became a columnist for the Littleton Independent and Arapahoe Herald (social news, of course) wrote for the Denver Post for years, and through many freelance assignments have kept my fingers on the social, art, fashion, political and theatrical pulse of the state, covering everything from polo matches to ballet openings, dog shows to wine tastings. Naturally, along the way, have served on boards and committees from the “Zoo Do” to “Mutts and Models.”
Real estate entered my life in the 70’s when I practiced public relations for a well-known brokerage and decided to sell the product. I should know the product. Ergo a real estate license. Have enjoyed almost every deal since. Have also enjoyed working in the fields of art and antique brokering, casting director in modeling and film, and raising wonderful children.
Currently thrilled at being a part of this splendid LIVE team, continuing to be Society Editor for Colorado Homes and Lifestyles and looking forward to becoming a grand mother. Present count: Two grand dogs, two grand cats.
What Clients Are Saying About Patterson…
Q&A With Patterson…
Where do you LIVE?
Historic Cheesman Park in a charming flat designed by famed architect Temple Buell. As my children are all adults and busily “running the world”, I share my artistic living quarters with a border terrier “Miss Gillespie” and a plumpy tortoise shell cat “Strawberry."
Why Real Estate... Aren't There Enough Agents On The Planet Already?
Alas, Yes. But never enough really extraordinary ones who consider finding the perfect home for buyer’s a true reward and securing a fair price for sellers in a timely manner on their usually biggest investment. It can truly be fun to boot.
What Music Is Currently In Your iPod?
iPod? How archaic. Only a nano here. Show tunes to Chopin, Michael Feinstein to Rod Stewart. No sad songs for me.
What Cause Gets Your Time And Money?
"Denver's Road Home" - a ten year project to end homelessness. Also the rehabilitation of Temple Emanuel in historic Curtis Park on 24th Street. Built in 1882; Destroyed by fire in 1897; Redesigned by Frank Edbrooke, prior to the prominent Architects' building of the Brown Palace Hotel, the moorish-romanesque style with "great bones" needs a full-fledged facelift to serve the community once more! As a meeting hall + office space + restaurant. To get involved, contact me or Drew Witmer, Preservation Coordinator at 303.359.9907. Everything from financial donations to your time is needed!
Give It Up. What Local Restaurant Is Your Best Kept Secret?
Frution on 6th Avenue between Marion and Lafayette. Paul Attardi's tres chic, intimate five-star cafe. Perfect for special occasions: birthdays, anniversaries, et. al. A bit pricey, but worth every Euro!
